Bearing in mind that we are in the best time of the year to travel to places as paradisiacal as Riviera Maya, Punta Cana, Salvador de Bahía or San Juan de Puerto Rico, in the rumbo.es team we have begun to comment on which of these paradisiacal corners we find more attractive to visit. The truth is that it depends on several factors and the price is one of them.

In this post we want to talk about 7 magical Caribbean places, all of them unique and with a multitude of attractions to visit, but they present sometimes sensitive and other times notable price differences.

The positive thing is that, if you want to escape and know endless beaches of fine white sand, crystal clear waters and intense turquoise blue, you are going to find it in the following safe list. You will see that it is not necessary to have a very comfortable budget to know these wonders of Nature and, according to your possibilities, you will surely find the package that best suits your needs.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

One of the Caribbean ‘low cost’ proposals. Located in the province of La Altagracia, in a locality located on the Costa del Coco, it has more than 50 kilometers of white sand beaches, with warm and crystalline waters that are considered the best in the world.

It has great hotel infrastructures that make this place a perfect destination for all types of vacations, from family getaways to trips with friends or even as a place to enjoy the Honeymoon.

Es a perfect place for rest and disconnection. Although there are no relevant tourist attractions around it, we do recommend visiting the city of Higüey, about 50 kilometers away, where is the Basilica of Our Lady of Altagracia, patron saint of the Dominican people.in the web of rumbo.es you can find all-inclusive packages to Punta Cana at a really acceptable price.

Riviera Maya, Mexico.

A perfect tourist proposal for those who want to combine relaxation with the culture and history of a country as rich as Mexico. Riviera Maya has practically everything to conquer the visitor:

Infinite beaches with turquoise waters, delicious regional gastronomy and a fantastic historical and natural heritage just a few kilometers from Playa del Carmen, where the vacation resorts are located, the pyramids of Chichen Itzá, one of the wonders of the world, the ruins of Tulum, the mysterious cenotes, colonial towns like Valladolid where time seems to have stopped.

This stay may be a bit more expensive than the previous one, but it’s worth the effort, go to Rumbo and check it out.

Havana, Cuba.

In this case, in my humble opinion, its beaches are one of the most insignificant attractions, considering how much this cachito de Cuba has to offer. Its urban center is considered one of the most culturally rich in the world, with a colonial past evidenced by impressive castles, cathedrals, mansions and museums.

So much so that the historic neighborhood of Old Havana is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with more than 900 historic monuments (including the Presidential Palace and the Cathedral Plaza), and the city seems to have a different rhythm from the rest of the planet, to the sound of its music and dances.

It is a very lively and pulsating city, with lively film and comedy clubs, art galleries, charming bookstores.

If Ernest Hemingway and even our beloved Federico García Lorca were in love with her… How could we not? It also offers a wide range of different prices, depending on the time of year and accommodation you choose.

Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.

Mansions, houses, palaces, convents and baroque churches from the 16th and 17th centuries have made Salvador’s historic centre, the capital of the state of Bahia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known as Pelourinho, the city center is one of the main attractions for the visitor and has become a must for both Brazilians and tourists from around the world.

Its great cultural diversity, mixing Amerindian, European and African traditions, have given Salvador an absolute richness that is manifested in its own culture and artistic manifestations, in its folklore as well as in the gastronomy and crafts of the place.

If you want some more incentive, of course, its beaches! Oh, and the carnival of Bahia, considered one of the most important in the country and of international fame.

Cancun, Mexico.

Gateway to the Mayan world and the Caribbean, located in the northeastern corner of the Yucatan peninsula, has magnificent infrastructure and services for the delight of tourists.

Not in vain was created solely and exclusively for tourism and every year more than 3.3 million people pass through here.22 kilometers of pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and endless attractions by land, sea and air.

As with Riviera Maya, there are many historical and natural attractions: pyramids, cenotes, adventure activities, natural parks and all kinds of luxuries and facilities that, accompanied by a daisy, will make your stay in this place a unique memory. La Romana and Bayahibe, Dominican Republic.

If we already talked about Punta Cana, one of the most popular places when traveling to this point of the planet, there are other interesting arrival points to disconnect from the worldly noise. They may be more expensive than the one mentioned above but they are worth it.

This is one of the 31 Dominican provinces, located about 100 kilometers from the capital of Santo Domingo. There are some of the most important resorts here and it has many attractions for those who visit it.

Fundamental and unavoidable, Altos de Chavón, a stone construction that gives it a unique colonial air, a community of artists where there is an amphitheater that is considered one of the most important outdoor stages in the world.

As for Bayahibe, this is a traditional fishing community, with humble homes and paradisiacal beaches on Saona and Catalina islands. They are virgin and protected areas that belong to the Parque Nacional del Este.

San Juan de Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico.

It is one of the trendy destinations… or at least they are working on it, taking into account the many ads and advertisements we see from Puerto Rico. It really has everything to win the visitor: culture, leisure, sport, gastronomy, nature…

San Juan Bautista is the capital of the island and the oldest city in the United States. It is located in the northeast region and there is no doubt that it is a place to travel to if you are looking for nature with substance, that is, not only beautiful beaches and lush vegetation.

Colonial buildings with bright colors and cobbled streets, emblematic places such as Fort San Felipe del Morro, San Cristóbal, Fortín de San Gerónimo, San Juan Cathedral, Capilla de Cristo or the Plaza del Quinto Centenario.

All this and more are going to contemplate in the known as ‘Viejo San Juan’, historical district located in the islet of San Juan. And at nightfall, lots of music, delicious Caribbean cuisine and two streets as the main arteries to enjoy the Puerto Rican night, San Sebastian and San Francisco. With this destiny we take a quantitative leap -that not qualitative, huh?
